Homophobic & Transphobic Register (HATR)
Welcome to ACSA’s pilot of the HaTR (Homophobic and Transphobic Register of Violence, Harassment and Intimidation). We hope that by introducing an online, third party reporting system akin to those that run successfully in NSW and Victoria, we can help track hate and prejudice motivated crimes against members of South Australian Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (GLBTI) communities. We hope that we can further develop and expand this project if more funds become available, but in the mean time we also hope that the online reporting form will help to increase reporting of acts of homophobia and transphobia.
Don’t let HaTRs go unreported – report homophobic or transphobic language and/or behaviour to SAPOL, or make a report using our online register of homophobic and transphobic violence, harassment and intimidation.
Just a few things to keep in mind before you report to us…
Child Safe Policy – ACSA Obligations under the Children’s Protection Act 1993
All children have a right to be safe and cared for in our communities and the responsibility of creating child safe environments is everyone’s responsibility. All children who come in to contact with ACSA, our services, staff and volunteers have the right to feel and be safe. We are committed to the safety and well-being of all children and young people who may access our services or come into contact with our services and their safety is paramount.
If you use this form to report child abuse or report a crime that involves a child, ACSA staff will be required to notify the Child Abuse Report Line in accordance with Section 11 of the Children’s Protection Act 1993.
Reporting Felony Crimes
If you use this form to report a felony crime, such as murder or rape, ACSA may be summonsed to provide evidence, including information provided in the online reporting form. Be aware that while we will uphold your confidentiality to the maximum of our capability, there may be situations in which we are required by law to produce records that pertain to felony crimes.
If you use this form to report a felony crime, ACSA may be required to provide details from your form to the relevant bodies.
