ACSA is the peak organisation responding to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in South Australia.
The global AIDS epidemic is the worst public health crisis the world has ever seen. In little more than 25 years, over 60 million people have been infected and over 20 million people have died. In Australia, our quick and effective public health response has ensured that infection rates remain amongst the lowest in the world. However, successful prevention programmes are crucial if we are to continue to contain the epidemic.
The network of AIDS Councils around Australia has been an important part of Australia’s community-based response and here at ACSA we continue to focus on awareness and prevention activities aimed at the groups most at risk as well as the wider community.
In this site you’ll find general information about HIV/AIDS, specific information for members of affected communities, links to resources, updates on ACSA activities and events, and opportunities for you to participate and contribute to our vision of “a future free of HIV”.
